This course is customised to your needs and equips you with the skills and knowledge required to operate a truck or trailer mounted attenuator when carrying out traffic management activities in civil construction.
It is a nationally recognised course including planning and preparing, using radio communication, operating and positioning truck or trailer mounted attenuator, using traffic controls, and cleaning up.
This course is aimed at employees working in the traffic control /management industry.
Truck Mounted Attenuators are designed for additional protection of workers and plant items in short term static works or mobile works. They are utilised to protect worksites on or beside active roads against errant vehicle intrusion. TMAs also protect the occupants of errant vehicles through cushioning an impact that otherwise would be absorbed by a works vehicle
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to operate a truck mounted attenuator when carrying out traffic management activities in civil construction. This course includes guidelines to protect the safety of road workers by providing physical protection via the attenuator when road or lane closures are not reasonably practical.
The course also covers planning works involving attenuators, examples of Traffic Guidance Scheme (TGS), industry standard approaches in the use of attenuators, and safety measures for deploying the Scorpion Device and Raising during works or completion of works.

This course requires 1 day attendance of training and assessment.
Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary enrolment paperwork.
If participants arrive 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time, entry to the course will be refused.
Training and assessment will take place in TP Training Seven Hills campus by a qualified Trainer monitoring your progress. Participants will receive a Handbook for Truck and Trailer Mounted Attenuator.
The course is delivered with both theory and practical elements and is completed via a simulated work environment. The delivery of training will include a mixture of face-to-face classroom delivery involving PowerPoint presentations, group activities, demonstrations, videos, written assessment activities and both simulated and live practicals.
During the course participants will have the opportunity to practice their new skills in a TMA and will be required to demonstrate competency via assessment of operating a TMA on live roads.
After successful completion of the training and assessment, you will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by TP Training listing the unit of competency included in this training course and a credit card sized Verification of Competency (VOC) Card with photograph identification of operator.
