Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a nationally recognised certification and SafeWork NSW high-risk licence, valid for 5 years.
Overview
This course equips participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) where the boom length is 11 metres or more, adhering to all relevant legislative requirements. Completing this unit does not automatically grant a High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL) for this equipment.
A boom-type elevating work platform is a telescoping, hinged, or articulated device (or combination thereof) that supports a platform on which personnel, equipment, and materials can be elevated. Participants must hold a valid boom-type EWP HRWL to perform this work.

Entry Requirements
Participants must:
- Proof of Identification (POI) Requirements ( read bellow)
- Be 18 years of age or above
- Provide original ID documents totaling at least 100 points, according to SafeWork NSW’s guidelines (including photo ID, date of birth, signature, and current residential address)
- Hold a valid NSW White Card or equivalent
- Have the physical ability to perform required tasks
- Provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) (Create your USI here)
- Complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment

Attendance
- Duration: 2 days of training, 1 day of assessment
- Arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start for enrolment paperwork
- Late arrivals may not be allowed entry
- Wear sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing for practical training and assessments
Duration 2 Days of training each day consist of
- Day 1 – Presentation, discussion, and operational activities
- Day 2 – Theory review, unit of competence assessment (formative assessment) and Practical Demonstration
- The 3rd day* is for – Assessment conducted by a Safe Work NSW accredited assessor
Training & Assessment
Delivered at TP Training by a qualified trainer, this course combines both theory and practical elements in a simulated work environment. Training includes classroom sessions, group discussions, and hands-on demonstrations.
SafeWork NSW assessment is required to obtain a high-risk work license. This involves written questions, case studies, and practical demonstrations.
Certification
Upon successfully completing the training and assessment, participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment (SOA). After passing the SafeWork NSW assessment, participants will receive a Notice of Satisfactory Assessment (NSA), valid for 60 days. The licence is issued by SafeWork NSW and can be applied for at Australia Post. This nationally recognised licence is valid for 5 years and must be renewed accordingly.

Proof of Identification (POI) Requirements for SafeWork NSW High-Risk Work (HRW) License Courses
To undertake a SafeWork NSW High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL) assessment, students must verify their identity through Service NSW’s Document Verification Service (DVS). Below are the eligibility criteria, required documents, and application process.
1. Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, ensure you meet the following requirements:
✅ Age: Must be 18 years or older.
✅ Training Completion: Must have completed HRW training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
✅ Competency Assessment: Must have been assessed as competent by a SafeWork NSW-accredited assessor and hold a Notice of Satisfactory Assessment (NSA).

3. How to Apply for an Assessment Enrolment Number (AEN)
